Abstract: The transformations of Mo species went through different ways during preparation of Mo2C catalysts over different carbon materials, in which metallic molybden um was observed over the graphitic carbon material. The temperature for molybden um carbide formation over carbon nanotubes is the lowest among three carbon mate rials.
