Abstract: An alternative method was studied for diphenyl carbonate (DPC) synthesis from di methyl car bonate (DMC) and phenyl acetate (PA) using a β-diketonate titanium complex, ti tan ium oxide acetylacetonate (TiO(acac)2), as the catalyst. TiO(acac)2 is an ef ficient catalyst for the transesterification reaction with a catalyst amount of 0.006 (mole ratio to PA).

Key words: titanium oxide acetylacetonate, dimethyl carbonate, phenyl acetate, transesterification, diphenyl carbonate
