Abstract: The Sc-doped LSM (La0.8Sr0.2Mn1-xScxO3-δ , x=0, 0.02, 0.05, and 0.1) as cathode materials for intermediate-tempera ture solid oxide fuel cells was synthesized using a modified Pechini method. The Sc -doped LSM-YSZ composite cathodes showed higher performance than the LSM-YSZ composite cathode at low operating temperatu re, which is primarily ascribed to the increase in the oxygen anionic vacancies resulted from the Sc partial substitution for Mn sites.
