Abstract: Pt nanoparticles were prepared by decomposing Pt2(dba)3 at H2 pressure of 0.5–2.0 MPa. The size of the Pt nanoparticles decreased from 11.5 to 2.8 nm with increasing decomposition pressure from 0.5 to 2.0 MPa. The catalyst decomposed at higher pressure exhibited higher activity and lower selectivity.
