Preparation of Novel Mesoporous SO42-/TiO2 Solid Acid Catalyst and Its Catalytic Activity for Esterification

Abstract

Abstract: A novel mesoporous SO₄^2-/TiO2 solid acid catalyst with whisker morphology and high surface area was prepared by incipient impregnation. The catalyst can be separated from the reaction system by gravity sedimentation. The prepared catalyst showed remarkable acid catalytic activity for the esterification of butanol with acetic acid.
