Abstract: The nanostructured vanadium phosphorous oxide precursor VOHPO4·0.5H2O has been directly synthesized by reduction of V2O5 using an improved organic solvent method. The VPO catalyst prepared from this novel process exhibited good activity and selectivity (68% selective and 81% conversion at 400 oC), and the specific surface area of catalyst BD-4-VPO reached 38.2 m2/g.
