Abstract: The solid acid catalysts of HZSM-5 (n(SiO2)/ n(Al2O3) = 93.5) and g-Al2O3 were both effective on dimethyl ether (DME) hydrolysis. During a 30 h stability test, g-Al2O3 did not show obvious deactivation and remained about 60% DME conversion after 30 h. However, HZSM-5(93.5) began to be deactivated at 22 h and reached only about 9% DME conversion after 30 h reaction.
