Abstract: The phase composition of TiO2 has an important influence on Au/TiO2 catalysts in the selective hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde. The mixed phase of rutile and anatase can improve both the activity and the selectivity for crotyl alcohol. Furthermore, higher reduction temperature favors the selectivity for crotyl alcohol, which is 2.7 times that of butanal at the reduction temperature of 500 oC.
