Abstract: Co-Mo-based catalysts with MgO-Al2O3 mixed oxide supports calcined at 600–800 oC exhibit high activity for water-gas shift reaction. The catalytic activity was closely related to the specific surface area, acid-base properties, and Mo species on the support surface.

Key words: magnesia, alumina, spinel, cobalt-molybdenum-based catalyst, water gas shift
