Abstract: Based on the highly efficient catalysts of alkylation and transalkylation invented by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, a series of green and flexible technology, from the first to the fifth generation, for ethylbenzene production via benzene alkylation with dilute ethene in catalytic dry-gas has been developed and commercially applied in a number of refineries successfully.

Key words: catalytic dry gas, ethene, ethylbenzene, ethylbenzene production technology, alkylation, transalkylation
