Abstract: High-surface-area rutile-structured SnO2 nanocrystals with wormhole-like mesopores were fabricated under poly(ethylene glycol)- assisted hydrothermal conditions. The mesoporous materials are suitable for use as catalysts, supports, and gas sensors.

Key words: hydrothermal synthesis, wormhole-like mesoporous tin dioxide, poly(ethylene glycol), light absorption property
