PVP-Capped Silver Nanoparticles as Catalyst for Oxidative Coupling of Thiols to Disulfides

Abstract: PVP-capped silver nanoparticles were used as active catalyst for the oxidation of n-dodecanethiol, n-butanethiol, and n-octanethiol with trace water to form their corresponding disulfides. The reactions take place under relatively mild conditions without a great amount solvent.
