Kinetic Resolution of 2-Methylbutyric Acid and Its Ester by Esterification and Hydrolysis with Lipases

Abstract: Among the 11 lipases inverstigated, the lipase from Rhizopus chinensis showed the highest hydrolysis enantioselectivity, and the ee value of 95.0% for (R)-ethyl 2-methylbutyrate was obtained at 4 oC.
