Abstract: This review describes the novel organotemplate-free routes for synthesizing zeolites with the emphasis on ZSM-5, β, ZSM-34, ECR-1, etc., which normally require the presence of organotemplates in the synthesis. The new routes are of great potential industrial applications because of the low cost, energy saving, emission reduction, and consequent huge economic benefits.

Key words: zeolite, novel synthetic route, organotemplate, initial gel ratio, zeolite seeds solution, crystal seeds
