    The new F-T technology, which has been licensed to Synfuels China, gives a 35- fold increase in activity over conventional supported catalysts at an operating temperature of only 150 °C, and a 15-fold increase at 100 °C. This has encour aged us to further develop novel syngas conversion technologies at much lower te mperatures with higher thermal efficiencies than traditional technologies.

    The catalytic reactivity of CeO2 not only depends on the particle size but al so closely relates to the morphology. The nanostructure and redox characteristic of CeO2 were analyzed in the paper, and the effects of the CeO2 structure a nd morphology on the representative catalytic reactions, including CO oxidation, water gas shift, and ethanol steam reforming, where the morphology-dependent c atalysis is well demonstrated, were summarized.

    K+-FeOx/SBA-15 modified by boron was efficient for propylene epox idation by N2O. The structure, environment of iron, and acid-base propert y of catalyst determined the reaction route probably by affecting the nature of a ctive oxygen species. K+-CuOx/SBA-15 or K+-CuOx-SiO 2 catalyst could catalyze propylene epoxidation by O2. CuI functioned as the active site for propylene epoxidation by O2.

    An alternative method was studied for catalytically reductive hydrodechlorinatio n and mono-N-alkylation of 2-chloro-4,6-dinitrobenzene-1,3-diol, an i nexpensive material, to synthesize corresponding N-alkyl secondary aminophe nol, 4,6-bis(isopropylamino)benzene-1,3-diol, at a high yield by using aceton e as the alkyl source and hydrogen as the reducing reagent over 10%Pd/C catalyst .

    The BiVO4 film electrode exhibited enhanced efficiency and stability in alkali ne solution compared with those in the neutral electrolyte. The cyclic voltammog rams for the intermediates analysis showed that the accumulation of peroxide in terme diates is less in higher pH alkaline solution. However, the water photooxidation mechanism is more complex when a higher bias is applied in the alkaline solutio n.

    The transformations of Mo species went through different ways during preparation of Mo2C catalysts over different carbon materials, in which metallic molybden um was observed over the graphitic carbon material. The temperature for molybden um carbide formation over carbon nanotubes is the lowest among three carbon mate rials.

    With increasing phosphorus content, the MCM-22 zeolite acidity was reduced and the quantity of weak acid sites increased gradually, whereas the strong acid sit es decreased. A proper phosphorus content can improve the selectivity for 2-dod ecylbenzene and the catalytic stability of the MCM-22 catalyst. The maximum yie ld of 2-phenyldodecane was obtained with a phosphorus content of 0.5%.

    Higher olefin hydroformylation catalyzed by water-soluble rhodium complex RhCl( CO)(TPPTS)2 was studied. High activity and selectivity for aldehydes were obta i ned under the mild conditions, and the catalyst immobilized in PEG-water could be easily separated from the products and reused.

    A good range of primary, secondary, tertiary alcohols, and phenolic hydroxyl g ro ups were effectively converted into their corresponding trimethylsilyl ethers wi th hexamethyldisilazane in the presence of catalytic amounts of tribromoisocyanu ric acid and DABCO-bromine under mild conditions at room temperature with short reaction times in good to excellent yields.

    Catalytic pyrolysis of three kinds of biomass was carried out using a dual-part icle powder fluidized bed (PPFB). The results showed that the tar in the volati le matter was transformed to the other pyrolysis products of the lower molecular hydrocarbon compounds at the higher temperature during the secondary reaction. The pyrolysis product distributions and its yield of the biomass could be contro lled by adjusting the secondary reaction parameters.

    The reaction sequence of the direct synthesis of acetic acid by CH4/CO2 two -step reaction on binary Co/Pd catalysts under isothermal conditions, which is favored in thermodynamics, goes through as follows: first, Co activates CH4 le ading to CHxCo (x=0,1); then, the overfall of CHx f r om Co to Pd generating CHyPd (y=1-3); last, CO 2 inserts into CHyPd forming acetic acid.

    The MoO3/γ-Al2O3 catalyst presulfided by ammonium thiosulfate exhibite d higher activity than by dimethlydisulfide. It was attributed to the formation of active type Ⅱ MoS2 phase and the increase of sulfidation degree in (NH4) 2S2O3 presulfided catalysts. The interaction of Mo with support in (NH4) 2 S2O3 presulfided catalysts was depressed by the sulfate species, which is a derivative of (NH4)2S2O3.

    Microporous MCM-22 was transferred to mesoporous materials by refluxing with surfactant in the presence of NaOH followed by adjusting the pH to 7 -9. The obtained materials exhibited remarkable hydrothermal stabili ty. After being refluxed in boiling water for 300 h, Ecust-7 still remained a h igh specific surface area of 698 m2/g and a pore volume of 0.90 cm3/g.

    Not only did the ZSM-5/mordenite (ZSM-5/MOR) composite zeolite catalyst give h igh activity for the conversion of mixed C4 hydrocarbons, but also it possesse d high selectivities to ethylene and propylene, to benzene and toluene. The yiel d sum of benzene and toluene increased with the content of ZSM-5, and even it w as much greater than that over bare ZSM-5 zeolite. At the reaction temperature of 625 ℃ the yield sum of benzene and toluene could reach as high as 44.5%.

    The dimethyl ether (DME) selectivity over Cu-ZnO-Al2O3/HMCM-22 bifunction al catalyst for the synthesis of DME from syngas was enhanced with the increase of SiO2/Al2O3 ratios in HMCM-22 zeolite. The bifunction al c atalyst containing high silica content in HMCM-22 zeolite exhibited high activi ty, selectivity, and stability.
