The intergrowth oxides of CeO2 and γ-Al2O3 were synthesized by an improved amorphous citric precursor method by Li Bin and coworkers (see the article on pages 528–534). There is a strong interaction between CeO2 and γ-Al2O3 oxide crystallites, and this results in a high stability for γ-Al2O3. The oxygen storage capacity of the CeO2 is also improved. The intergrowth oxides are good oxygen storage materials.
