The inorganic-organic hybrid material {Mn(C20H20N2O2)- (Cl)}2(H4SiW12O40) can be synthesized by combining the Schiff-base manganese complex with Keggin-structured heteropolyanion through coordinate interaction, as described by Wang and coworkers in the article on pages 156–162. The picture shows the structure of this highly active, recyclable, and green solid catalyst for esterification of phosphoric acid with equimolar lauryl alcohol to monoalkyl phosphate ester.

The superior performance of inert carrier-supported catalysts was ascribed to the medium redox ability, which suppressed CH3Br steam reforming.
