Fast selective catalytic reduction of NOx by hydrogen (fast H2-SCR) was investigated by Guan and co-workers for the first time in their communication on pages 261–263. Nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere are transformed to harmless products N2 and H2O through fast H2-SCR reac-tion over a Pd/Al2O3 catalyst.

The selectivity of 96.0% for 4-phenyl-3-butene-2-ol and ee value of 71.2% were obtained. The catalyst could be reused five times without evident loss of catalytic activity and enantioselectivity.
